Checheng once had a glorious history in the development of the wood industry, serving as a transit station for timber exports in the past. The Checheng Wood Industry Exhibition Hall is located at the center of the Checheng community, adjacent to the Checheng train station. The main structure features a unique two-story pointed-roof building with a double slope covering layer on the roof. The overall structure primarily uses wood as the main material, with steel as auxiliary support. The style presents a strong sense of modernism and makes good use of diagonal tension and suspension techniques, combining rivets and steel cables to fully showcase structural aesthetics.
Visitors can engage in hands-on DIY activities to create wooden products such as chairs, bookshelves, and round stools. There is also painted wood for a family-friendly experience, and ready-made products are available for purchase, including keychains, picture frames, and piggy banks. You can find all kinds of small ornaments here.
