The Chiayi City Museum of Art is a design case of co-construction and reuse of historical buildings. It was previously used by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Related Products, Chiayi Branch. One of the buildings is a city-designated historical site (Building A), while the other three buildings are general buildings used as storage and retail department facilities.
