Chinan National Forest Recreation Area, located at a vantage point with a commanding view, is an excellent spot to admire the scenery of Carp Pond. It also features a coffee and tea tasting area, providing visitors with a convenient place to rest and enjoy the Carp Pond scenery while identifying the surrounding mountains according to a map.
From the 1950s to the 1970s, the Chinan Forest Area was a logging hub for Papaya Mountain (2500m). To this day, the area retains ancient logging tramways (also known as flow cages), German-made bouncing cars, and a super-large steam-powered logging machine for tourists to visit.
