Zhongzheng Park

The main entrance of Zhongzheng Park is located on Xin’er Road, accessible by climbing the steps or walking up the side slope.

The park itself is divided into three levels. The first level features pavilions, a chess center, and sports and leisure facilities, which regularly attract a large number of visitors during holidays.

The second level is the site of the ‘Zhupu Altar’. The annual Keelung Zhongyuan Pudu festival is held here, with a massive crowd and a spectacular scene.

At the highest point of the park stands a white statue of Guanyin, a 22.5-meter-tall Guanyin statue with five levels inside, allowing visitors to ascend and overlook the panoramic view of Keelung, making it a representative landmark of the city.

On both sides of the statue, there are two huge golden lions, creating an atmosphere of peace and solemnity.

Surrounding the statue, there are eighteen statues of Arhats, each with a unique expression and posture, making them very vivid and interesting.

About 0.8 kilometers ahead from Zhongzheng Park, on the right side in the Mei Garden, there is an 8-inch steel cannon made in Britain in 1887, relocated from Baimiweng Fort. It is worth a visit.

The park is open all year round, accessible 24/7.
