Originating from Texas, USA, as an independent band, ‘Cigarettes After Sex’ gained global attention with their self-titled debut album ‘Cigarettes After Sex’ released in 2017. The minimalist black-and-white aesthetic design, the hazy romantic guitar sounds, and lead singer Greg Gonzalez’s voice and lyrics that oscillate between sweetness and melancholy, hypnotize listeners like a vintage film. From pop queen Taylor Swift to the creative director of Calvin Klein, they have captivated many. The album achieved a rare platinum certification in the ‘Dream Pop’ genre in the United States alone, and the hit song ‘Apocalypse’ has earned a double platinum honor, with over 240 million views on YouTube. In 2023, the band returned to Taiwan for performances at Zepp New Taipei, with both shows selling out instantly.
