Ciyun Temple is located in Taipei City and is a designated historic site of the city. It belongs to the Mahayana orthodox Longhua Zhai sect. The main hall on the second floor is dedicated to the worship of Guanyin, while the first floor houses the statues of Maitreya Buddha, the nine ancestors of the Zhang family, and the memorial tablets of the Zhai friends. Initially named Ciyun Buddhist Hall, it was established in 1840 (the 20th year of the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty). In 1924, due to the impact of the rectification plan, the hall master Zhang Jialai donated and raised funds again to rebuild Ciyun Buddhist Hall for the second time, constructing it with reinforced concrete and red bricks in a two-story Zhai hall style.
