Dawu Mountain Nature Reserve is a towering peak at the southern end of Taiwan’s Central Mountain Range. Its steep cliffs drop sharply on both the east and west sides, giving the terrain the appearance of a rectangular earth dam surrounded by steep banks, forming an independent system.
Within the area, there are significant changes in elevation and a large drop in water systems. The erosive and cutting actions of the upper streams are also vigorous, creating many waterfalls, potholes, rapids, and lakes. The region is remote and transportation is inconvenient, making it one of the few areas in the local region that are not traversed by roads. The degree of human impact is low, the original forest is well-preserved, there are many types of wildlife, and their numbers are greater than in other areas. It has considerable ecological integrity and is one of the areas well worth preserving. Opening hours: Open all year round, 24/7.Dawu Mountain Nature Reserve
