Ding Tai Shan Yan is located in Taishan District, New Taipei City. In the early days, it was named Fu Shan Yan. After reconstruction, it was renamed Tai Shan Yan. It was initially built in the 19th year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1754 AD). Later, due to the armed conflict between Zhangzhou and Quanzhou, the temple was burned down and has undergone multiple reconstructions and renovations. The main deity enshrined in Ding Tai Shan Yan is Xian Ying Patriarch, also commonly known as ‘Patriarch Gong’ among the people. Deities such as Sakyamuni Buddha, Mazu, and Guanyin Bodhisattva are also enshrined. The 18th day of the ninth lunar month is the birthday of Xian Ying Patriarch. At Ding Tai Shan Yan, grand Dharma assemblies and sacrificial ceremonies are held. It is also one of the important religious celebrations in Taishan Township. Opening hours: Open all year round from 5:00 to 20:00.
