The Former Residence of Zhang Ting’e is the old home of Zhang Tingkai, the former Mayor of Tianjin. He lived here during his two terms as Mayor in 1934 and 1945. The building is located at what was then No. 38-40 Second Road, Tianjin, and is now No. 33-35 Minzhu Road, Hebei District.
The residence is a two-story brick and wood structure with a rear building and a semi-basement. The top of the building has a gabled roof with dormer windows. The main entrance hall of the building faces south and has a balcony above it. The exterior of the building is designed to imitate stone masonry.
