Fort Zeelandia Museum is located in the Anping District of Tainan City, near the Anping Fort. Originally constructed in 1882 as the Anping Tax Collector’s Office, it was later transformed into a customs club and then the Tainan Historical Museum. After World War II, the building served as the Anping District Office. Following its inclusion in the Anping Fort historical site, the district office relocated, and the building was later established as the Tainan City Yi-Han Folk Art Museum, thanks to the donation of Qiu Yonghan’s collection to the Tainan City Government. It was subsequently renamed Fort Zeelandia Museum and opened in May 2009. The museum features four exhibition halls: ‘Situation Reenactment’, ‘Impregnable Fortress’, ‘Government Office Stories’, and ‘Fragments and Glimpses’. The museum is open all year round from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM daily.
