Gaoshiti Forest Park is located in Rong County, Zigong City. The park features a unique topography, with giant rocks, peculiar peaks, ravines, and mountain streams forming a typical natural landscape of low mountainous terrain in southern Sichuan. As early as the 33rd year of the Guangxu reign in the Qing Dynasty, it was recognized as one of the four major summer retreats for foreigners in Sichuan. The park is characterized by lush forests and beautiful scenery.
Main attractions include: Jiuxiao Peak: As the highest peak in the park, Jiuxiao Peak is surrounded by mountains and multiple ridges, encompassing over 30 large and small peaks. From a distance, it resembles a mushroom or a spreading, crouching swan incubating eggs, commonly known as ‘Swan Holding an Egg’. Twin Lions Worshiping an Elephant: At the northern end, ‘Laolinkou’ boasts dense forests, treacherous terrain, and a peculiar mountain shape. Viewed from afar, it appears like an arhat leading two lions in worship toward an elephant, hence the name ‘Twin Lions Worshiping an Elephant’. Soaring Stone Bamboo: Below ‘Egongjing’, there is a ravine named ‘Stone Bamboo Gully’. At its base stands a peak piercing into the blue sky, known as Stone Bamboo Mountain.
