Golden瓜石 is a settlement located in the northeastern part of Taiwan Island, administratively under Ruifang District, New Taipei City, situated between the northern ridge of the Snow Mountain Range and the northeastern coast. Closely related to Jiufen, both were once significant mining areas and are collectively known as the ‘Golden Nine Area’. Originally a wilderness with few inhabitants, Golden瓜石 became populated after the discovery of gold veins, attracting many settlers.

Today, Golden瓜石 is no longer a mining area but retains its traditional mining village appearance, rich in historical value and cultural heritage. It is open all year round from Monday to Friday, 09:30 to 17:00, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 09:30 to 18:00. The specific business status is subject to the daily opening conditions.

Must-see Tips:

1. A travel guide suggests visiting Jiufen as well, as it is close to Golden瓜石. Most buses from Ruifang to Jiufen end at Golden瓜石, so it is advisable to visit Golden瓜石 first and then return to Jiufen for further exploration.

2. If time permits, you can also take the 891 Golden Water Romantic Line at the Gold Museum, starting and ending at the Gold Museum, passing through scenic spots such as the Golden Waterfall and the Romantic Road, offering beautiful landscapes.
