The Green Island Lighthouse, a pure white cylindrical structure standing at a height of 33.3 meters, is located on a northwestern cape. It offers a beautiful view against the blue sky and beside the azure sea, and serves as an important indicator for fishing boats and aircraft.
The construction of the lighthouse was initiated after the American cruise ship ‘Hoover’ ran aground and sank near Green Island. In memory of the incident and to ensure maritime safety, the U.S. government donated funds to build the lighthouse on the island the following year, making it a historically significant structure.
The lighthouse is open all year round, from Tuesday to Sunday, between 09:00 and 18:00.
