The Guangbei Ba Biao Memorial stands as a commemoration of the pioneering east-west power transmission project. A massive stone monument inscribed with Chiang Kai-shek’s calligraphy, ‘Guangbei Ba Biao, Li Pu Minsheng’, is erected on the county boundary between Hualien and Nantou, exuding grandeur due to its extraordinary significance. The eastern side of the monument is inscribed with the characters ‘Guangbei Ba Biao’, while the western side is inscribed with ‘Li Pu Minsheng’. The monument is open to the public all year round and is accessible 24/7.
