Guantouling National Forest Park is located at the western end of Beihai City, featuring both forests and a group of marine erosion reefs, where visitors can stroll along the reef beaches and enjoy the beautiful sunrise and sunset views.
The main peak of the scenic area, Wanglou Ridge, stands at an altitude of 120 meters and is the highest point in Beihai City. Climbing to the top offers a panoramic view of the surrounding coastal scenery.
The park is not large, and there are not many attractions, but the marine erosion reef group is the main feature. Walking on the beach, one can see reefs of varying sizes, creating a unique and well-arranged beauty with the huge steep cliff eroded by the sea on the western slope of Guantouling.
Among the reef beaches, the famous ‘Sea withered and stone rotten’ turtle-shaped reef is the iconic attraction of Guantouling, drawing people to take photos. After passing the beach, one can follow the trail to climb the mountain. The mountain is not high, making the climb quite easy.
At the top of the mountain’s viewing platform, one can enjoy the surrounding coastal scenery. There is also a nearby Pudu Temple that can be visited.
The park is open all year round and accessible 24 hours a day.
Essential tips: The reefs on the beach can be slippery, so wear non-slip shoes when visiting the park, and avoid standing on reefs submerged in seawater for playing and taking photos.
