Guizikei Soil and Water Conservation Education Park is located in Beitou District, Taiwan. The park is home to the ancient Wuzhishan strata in the Taipei area, which contain kaolin and quartz sand of very high purity, the main industrial raw materials for manufacturing ceramics and glass. As a result, the Guzikei mountain area was extensively mined by porcelain earth businessmen for industrial sandstone, which was crushed and then washed with stream water to extract porcelain earth. This led to severe destruction of the surface, with streams in disarray and mining waste scattered everywhere. Local residents referred to this area as ‘Guizikei,’ which was later changed to ‘Guizikei’ for better phonetic appeal. The park is open all year round and is accessible 24/7, with specific operating conditions subject to daily opening status.
