Hai’an Road Art Street was originally an abandoned street in Tainan. Thanks to a group of artists creating the street in an artistic way, they have shaped a new style for this street in the old city and injected new life into the Zhongzheng-Hai’an business district that has been in decline for many years. Through the ingenuity and craftsmanship of artists, these originally dilapidated walls have become a unique street art space.
What can you do here? Hai’an Street is an art street full of various creative, appreciable and playable elements everywhere. These decorative arts are full of appeal. Walking on Hai’an Road, milky white plastic buckets in the shape of jellyfish or pufferfish that are attached to walls and lamp posts and suspended can also be seen. On both sides of Hai’an Road, many characteristic stores are gradually opening up, including open-air cafes, beverage stores, pubs, clothing boutiques and food stalls, which have become a place for people to gather and chat.
At nightfall, colorful neon lights light up the entire Hai’an Road Art Street. The charming night scenery is quietly giving new vitality to the Zhongzheng-Hai’an business district. Open all year round and open all day.
