In the 22nd year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, soldiers from different units but the same hometown built temples in Anping. These served as places to worship local gods and hold gatherings. They are divided into ‘Tibiao Temple’, ‘Beacon Temple’, ‘Min’an Temple’, ‘Kinmen Temple’, and ‘Haishan Temple’, collectively known as the ‘Five Temples in Anping’. It is now listed as a third-class historic site.


Haishan Temple is a temple built by soldiers from Haitan Town, Fujian Province. It is abbreviated as Haitan Temple. It mainly worships the goddess Mazu and is accompanied by the worship of the Five Emperors and the Five Fortunes Gods, playing a role in stabilizing the military morale. Now it is mainly used to display local historical materials in Anping area. The display themes include eight major themes such as biographies of figures, literature and art and folk skills, life, temples, talismans in private houses, and Anping tomorrow.


Opening hours: Open all year round. Monday, Thursday to Sunday, 10:00 – 18:00.
