The Haomeiliao Nature Reserve is located by the sea in Budai Town. It is also just between the estuaries of Bajhang Creek and Longgong Creek. Its scope includes the sandbars and casuarina forests at the estuary of Bajhang Creek, and the lagoons, mangroves and beaches between the estuary of Longgong Creek and the southern end of Budai Port. The Haomeiliao Nature Reserve is a beautiful wetland. Due to the long-term silting effect of the two estuaries, a sandbar terrain has been formed, nurturing a rich and complete natural ecology. Here, plants such as Avicennia marina, Lumnitzera racemosa, Kandelia obovata and Rhizophora stylosa are commonly seen. There are also creatures such as Mictyris brevidactylus, Uca albimana, Macrophthalmus erato, Scylla serrata, Gari fervensis and others. At the same time, it is also a good place for bird watching. Birds such as Tringa melanoleuca, Tringa guttifer, Arenaria interpres, Sterna albifrons, Charadrius alexandrinus and Pluvialis fulva inhabit here. Open all year round from 00:00 to 23:59. Tips: Relevant units have listed this place as a nature reserve and provided it as a space and place for recreation and research for all sectors.
