Hongchaikeng Fishery Harbor is a small fishing port on the west coast of Hengchun Peninsula, with high popularity. Although the port is small, it is one of the two major yacht ports in the Kenting area, the other being Houbi Lake Port. The name Hongchaikeng originates from the fact that this place was once a concentration area for a type of tree – red firewood. For tourists who love maritime tourism, the seabed near Hongchaikeng is a concentrated distribution area of coral reefs in the Kenting area. Many divers intentionally avoid the waters of Houbi Lake and Nanwan Bay, choosing to visit the Hongchaikeng waters because of the diverse types of corals and beautiful underwater scenery in this region. Both snorkeling and diving require a higher level of skill. There is a specialized underwater sightseeing operator at Hongchaikeng Fishery Harbor, called Dolphin Underwater Sightseeing Boat, which transports tourists to enjoy the underwater scenery of the west coast of Hengchun Peninsula using semi-submarines and glass-bottomed boats. The opening hours and specific business status are subject to the daily opening conditions.
