The Hsinchu City Film Museum is situated at the former site of the National Theater, which was once the first air-conditioned cinema in Taiwan. In the past, it not only screened movies but also hosted concerts, military recruitment, and musicals. Today, the museum serves as a space for the preservation, exhibition, projection, research, and educational promotion of film artifacts. It features a multifunctional audio-visual room, a film artifact display area, the National Cinema Hall, an outdoor film projector display, a film artifact display area, a vintage air conditioner display, and a film corridor. The museum is open from 9:00 to 17:00 on Thursdays all year round; and from 9:00 to 21:00 on Fridays all year round.
