The Huwei Mazu Temple is locally known as the ‘Second Mother Temple’. It mainly enshrines the ‘Jade Second Holy Mother’ that is an emanation from the Mazu Temple in Shanshang District, Tainan City. The original golden statue in the main hall is the deputy chariot of the Great Mazu Temple in Tainan City’s sacrificial ceremony. Therefore, it is still named Mazu Temple.
