Jia Le Shui Scenic Area is located on the eastern coast of Hengchun Peninsula, with its back to the mountains and facing the sea, bordering the Pacific Ocean. The area is home to a variety of unique and peculiar rocks, akin to a natural museum of strange stones, including honeycomb rocks, potholes, checkerboard stones, and sea-eroded flat stones, as well as vividly shaped animal figures. Hence, Jia Le Shui Scenic Area is renowned as the ‘Paradise of the Sea God’.
Within the Jia Le Shui Scenic Area, there is a 2.5-kilometer long stone-paved trail leading from the entrance to the mountain and sea waterfall inside. The ‘Mountain and Sea Waterfall’, which is over 30 meters high and formed by the confluence of three streams, is a rare coastal waterfall in Taiwan, divided into two sections, cascading directly into the sea from the sea cliffs. The name Jia Le Shui is derived from the meaning of peace and prosperity. The scenic area is equipped with guided tour vehicles that operate around the Jia Le Shui Scenic Area, with drivers providing commentary along the way, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the scenery.
