Jiali Yongxing Palace traces its origins back to the Qing Shunzhi era, when settlers brought a censer from the San Guan Da Di Temple in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, for veneration. San Guan Da Di, known as the deities of heaven, earth, and water in our country during the Tang, Yu, and Xia dynasties, are revered as follows: Yao, who regulated the heavens and aligned the seven policies, is honored as the Bestowing Blessings Heavenly Official, the Purple Star Emperor; Shun, who delineated the twelve provinces to ensure the peace of the people, is known as the Earthly Official, the Clear Spirit Emperor; Yu, who controlled the floods to establish homes for the people, is recognized as the Water Official, the Cave Yin Emperor. They oversee the virtues and sins of humanity and are accompanied by other revered deities such as Guan Sheng Di Jun, Tian Shang Mu Niang, Wu Fu Qian Sui, Xie Fu Da, Er, San Yuan Shuai, among others, whose divine powers are manifested in the flourishing incense and worship. In 1989, the temple was reconstructed and completed three years later, resulting in the grand and resplendent halls that stand today.
