The Jingzi Pavilion, also known as Shengji Pavilion, Jingsheng Pavilion, and Zipa Pavilion, embodies the traditional concept of ‘respecting and valuing characters, and advocating literary style’ deeply influenced by Confucian thought. Coupled with the Hakka people’s reverence for written characters, a furnace pavilion for burning gold paper is set up in the village specifically for paper transformation.
The Jingzi Pavilion of Yimeng Village is a hollow hexagonal three-story brick tower made from swallow-tailed bricks, with the pavilion body adorned with painted petal-shaped cut-and-paste decorations, and the pavilion top features shallow carvings of Ruyi patterns, presenting an elegant and simple style. Below the Jingzi Pavilion, a stone tablet enshrines deities closely related to education, such as Cangjie, Confucius, and Wenchang Dijun, reflecting Meinong’s emphasis on literature and education. The Jingzi Pavilion of Yimeng Village
