Juming, a native of Tongxiao Town, Miaoli County, whose real name is Zhu Chuantai, is a well-known sculptor in Taiwan. In the early days, he became famous for his carvings with rural themes like cows and shepherd boys. Under the leadership of his father, Juming apprenticed to the carving master Li Jinchuan at the Mazu Temple in Tongxiao Town. Later, he volunteered and took his carved statue of a loving mother and a girl playing in the sand to apprentice to the sculptor Yang Yingfeng. His modern sculptures integrating Chinese philosophies such as Tai Chi have gradually become famous internationally. Since the 1980s, Juming has taken the “Human World Series” that depicts the various states of human life as his main creative theme. In 1999, Mr. Juming won the 14th Tokyo Innovation Award – Overseas Award issued by the Tokyo Fashion Association. A museum with both indoor and outdoor exhibition spaces and completely integrated with nature has a rich collection of Juming’s works and a unique natural environment.
