The Lin Benyuan Garden Residence is a vast estate, which can be divided into two parts: ‘Garden’ and ‘Residence’. The ‘Garden’, also known as the ‘Banqiao Lin Family Garden’, refers to the garden area outside the living quarters, encompassing structures such as the Qing Pavilion, Yuebo Water Pavilion, and Dingjing Hall, along with artificial landscapes. The ‘Residence’ indicates the living quarters of the Lin Benyuan family, located in the three main buildings on the west side of the garden.
Currently, these three main buildings still belong to the ‘Lin Family Ancestral Association’ and require a guided tour to enter. The garden is open all year round from 09:00 to 17:00, closed on the first Monday of each month (if it coincides with a public holiday, the garden remains open and closes the following day), as well as on Lunar New Year’s Eve, the first day of the Lunar New Year, and government-announced natural disaster work stoppage days. Other necessary closures will be announced separately. The garden is closed on January 3rd, January 31st (New Year’s Eve), February 1st (New Year’s Day), February 7th, March 7th, April 6th, May 3rd, June 6th, July 4th, August 1st, September 5th, October 3rd, November 7th, and December 5th. The actual business status is subject to the day’s opening conditions. A must-see tip: The Lin Family Mansion is still private property. Daily guided tours are conducted during the red-letter hours, and visitors wishing to tour should obtain a guided tour pass from the service desk and gather at the archway next to the three main buildings 10 minutes before the tour starts. For other times, guided tours are freely available, and participants should gather at the square pavilion according to the garden’s broadcast.Lin Family Garden
