In 1991, Taiwan implemented a comprehensive ban on the felling of natural forests, leading to the decline and silence of this small town. Today, it has been transformed into the Lin Tianshan Forestry Cultural Park. The railway, exhibition halls, Zhongshan Hall, the director’s residence, wood carving museum, machinery repair factory, forest nostalgia museum, and forestry life museum are being restored year by year. This has made Lin Tianshan a well-preserved forest cultural scenic area in the eastern region.
Lin Tianshan, now stripped of its former glory, still emits the fragrance of its cypress architecture. With its complete railway and cableway systems, and a distinctive community style, Lin Tianshan has gradually become a precious destination that transports visitors into the memories of logging.
Opening hours are year-round from Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Essential tips for visitors include: 1. Do not bring pets, dangerous items, food, beverages, or umbrellas into any of the park’s facilities. 2. Smoking, chewing gum, and betel nut are prohibited in all park facilities. 3. On holidays, forest volunteers and other on-site personnel are stationed to provide explanations.
