Longluan Lake

Longluan Lake is a fantastic destination for bird watching enthusiasts. To minimize human disturbance to the birds, the lake’s design is seamlessly integrated with the natural surroundings. An approximately 800-meter footpath has been thoughtfully constructed to keep humans at a respectful distance from the birds. For the convenience of bird watchers, there are 12 high-magnification monocular telescopes and a bird atlas available, allowing visitors to appreciate and identify different bird species.

The lake is home to a diverse array of birds, such as the brown shrike in the bushes, the Formosan bulbul on the branches, and groups of wild ducks floating gracefully on the water. During the autumn and winter seasons, a large number of migratory birds pass through, adding to the spectacle of flocks of birds filling the sky.

In addition to the natural attractions, there is a museum on-site that offers a wealth of knowledge about birds, including details on bird migration and the ecology of various species. Adjacent to the museum, a large expanse of green grass provides the perfect spot for visitors to relax in the evenings. Sitting on the grass and watching water birds foraging by the lake offers a unique and charming experience.

Longluan Lake is open to the public all year round, with operating hours from 08:30 to 17:00. Whether you’re an avid bird watcher or simply seeking a peaceful retreat in nature, Longluan Lake is a must-visit destination.
