The Lukang Town God Temple, a historical landmark, is located on Zhongshan Road in Lukang Town. It is said to have been originally built during the 20th year of the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty, with incense split from Shishi Township in Quanzhou, Fujian. The temple underwent reconstruction and expansion into a grand three-hall temple during the 30th year of the Daoguang era. It was not until 1992 AD that the Town God Temple was designated as a third-grade historical site, and the temple was subsequently rebuilt.

The Town God Temple primarily worships the Town God, who is an important deity widely revered in Han Chinese religious culture. As the Town God was once ennobled as a marquis, a plaque inscribed with ‘Loyal and Assisting Marquis’ hangs within the temple.

The temple is open all year round: from Saturday to Sunday, 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM; and from Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
