Ma-Kung Holy Mother Church is located in Wanjin Village, Wanluan Township, Pingtung County, and is one of the older churches in Taiwan, also known as a pilgrimage site for the Virgin Mary in Taiwan. The Ma-Kung Holy Mother Sacred Site is constructed with Spanish castle-style architecture combined with unique Chinese building materials, along with a church bell from Spain, creating a distinct style for the Ma-Kung Holy Mother Church.

Architectural Features: The Ma-Kung Holy Mother Church measures 45 feet in width, 116 feet in length, 25 feet in wall height, and 3 feet in wall thickness. The entire structure is built with a mixture of traditional Chinese building materials such as crushed stone, lime, brown sugar, honey, cotton, and fire bricks, creating a solid and sturdy outer wall. The church bell from Spain and the Virgin Mary’s sedan chair, carved by a Fujian artist for parades, are notable features.

The ground is paved with red bricks, complementing the original style of the church, with the walls coated in white lime for clear visibility, making it a local landmark.
Opening Hours: The church is open all year round from 7:00 to 20:00.
Essential Tips: Due to the narrow roads near the church, it is recommended to park vehicles not far from the entrance to the community where a parking lot is available.
