The Pocket-Sized Museum is a specialized museum dedicated to the collection of miniature art pieces. It houses over 200 miniature treasures from around the world. Inspired by their trip to Amsterdam, where the curators, Lin Wenren and his spouse, were captivated by the exquisite miniature artworks, they began to collect various miniature pieces, leading to the establishment of this museum. Stepping into the Pocket-Sized Museum feels like entering a time tunnel, with exhibits such as Tudor-style architecture and Victorian mansions appearing petite, beautiful, and incredibly lifelike, making them well worth the visit.
As you stroll through the museum, it’s like journeying through a time tunnel of exotic cultures. Originating from the sixteenth-century German court nobility, the art of miniatures has spread across Europe and North America. These small artworks, ranging from architectural structures to keys on a desk, are meticulously crafted according to a specific scale reduction, with a 12:1 ratio being the global standard.
The museum seeks out the works of miniature art masters from around the world, boasting a collection scale that ranks among the best in the world. The diverse miniature masterpieces, after being arranged and displayed, currently showcase approximately two hundred themed works, including dollhouses that present the interior and exterior decoration of entire buildings, roomboxes that offer a detailed depiction of various rooms, and creative themed works.
