Both Sleeping Beauty Rock and Pug Rock are situated at a scenic corner on the east coast of Green Island, within Taitung County. These natural geological formations are believed to have originated from ancient volcanic eruptions.
Sleeping Beauty Rock is the more prominent of the two, jutting out from the sea. Its name is inspired by its distinctive silhouette. Not far from it, another fascinating rock emerges, bearing a striking resemblance to a pug dog lying on the sea’s surface, hence the name Pug Rock.
Visitors can enjoy these remarkable landmarks any time of the day, every day of the year, as they are accessible around the clock.
