The Qigu Lagoon Ecological Area spans an area of 1,600 hectares, located between the Qigu Stream and the General Stream, and is known locally as ‘Neihai Zai’. Due to the four times diversion of the Zengwen River, the lagoon landscape seen today has been formed, making it one of the larger lagoons in the region. This area boasts a rich and thriving ecosystem, including fish, shellfish, oysters, crabs, shrimp, mangroves, white egrets, and the internationally renowned visitor – the black-faced spoonbill. In total, there are 125 species of fish, 73 species of shellfish, and over 30 species of oysters. On the streets of the nearby Longshan Village, one can find seafood and fresh oyster dishes everywhere; seafood lovers must not miss it. The area is open all year round and available 24/7.
