Qijin Windmill Park is located on the north side of Zhongzhou Sewage Treatment Plant in Qijin District, Kaohsiung City. As soon as you arrive at the park, seven huge three-blade wind turbines come into view. With unique shapes, they are very eye-catching. Whenever tourists pass by, their attention is easily attracted by the huge windmills. A great place for an outing. The windmill park built in 2003 is the first park green space with environmental protection imagery and concepts in Taiwan. Hundreds of coastal trees are planted in the park. There is also a large lawn for picnics. Due to its proximity to the sea, the wind is very strong in the park and it is suitable for flying kites. Every day, the energy generated by these windmills using wind power is sufficient to supply the park’s evening lighting for about four and a half hours. In addition, there are collage creations of marine life in the park. The shapes are vivid and interesting. There is also a seaside observation stand and a performance square in front of the large windmills. Many local art and cultural activities are held here. Open all year round and open all day.
