Qilai Nose Lighthouse

Situated at the northern end of Hualien Port on Qilai Nose Cape, the Qilai Nose Lighthouse was originally a white square-shaped structure. During World War II, it was severely damaged by an American military aircraft and ceased to emit light. To align with the opening of Hualien Port as an international port, a new white pentagonal concrete lighthouse was constructed near the site of the original. This is a pentagonal reinforced concrete lighthouse and is unique among Taiwan’s lighthouses for housing a temple dedicated to the Earth God.

The lighthouse is open all year round, with full-day access.
