Qing’an Palace, established during the 45th year of the Qianlong Emperor in Niuzhu Port, is one of the oldest temples in Keelung. As the majority of Keelung’s early residents were engaged in the fishing industry, the temple is dedicated to the Heavenly Mother of Mercy to pray for safety. Later, due to land reclamation in Keelung, the government relocated the temple to its current location, preserving the century-old temple’s rich historical charm. The temple features exquisitely carved dragon pillars, rustic yet profound stone lions in front of the temple, a wall adorned with ceramics, and an interior wall made of Italian stone, all contributing to its elegant and antique architectural style, which is highly appreciated for its aesthetic value. The temple is open to visitors from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM all year round.
