Qingquan Hot Spring is located in Taoshan Village, Wufeng Township, Xinzhu County, by the Shangpingxi River, and is the settlement of the Atayal and Saisiat tribes. It was developed in 1913 and was known as ‘Inoue Hot Spring’ as it was exclusively used by Japanese police along the Aoyu Line, earning the reputation of ‘Qingquan Trial Bath’ and being one of the eight scenic spots of Xinzhu. Visitors to Qingquan Hot Spring can reach the destination by crossing two suspension bridges; the first leads to the tribal market in the mountains, while the second directly reaches the hot spring. One can also take the opportunity to visit the Dalu Forest Trail to experience the charming atmosphere of Xinzhu tourism.

Qingquan Hot Spring has several spring outlets with an average temperature of about 48 degrees Celsius, and it is a colorless, odorless neutral carbonate spring. The Qingquan Catholic Church is a magnificent church in the Qingquan area. In 1976, Father Ding Songqing arrived in Qingquan and began his career as a priest. With his love and perseverance, and his artistry, he transformed the church into a garden of religious and folk culture. This unique church is the artistic, spiritual, and cultural center of the village. The church is adorned with hand-designed stained glass by Father Ding and murals and woodcuts on the walls depicting local ethnic minorities, making the Qingquan Catholic Church a popular tourist attraction in the Qingquan area.
