The Qushi Qishan Rock Clear Water Ancestor Temple in New Taipei City was once a place where early settlers from Anxi, Fujian, crossed over to Taiwan during the Qing Dynasty. They were captivated by the scenic beauty of the mountains and the surrounding water, and thus decided to settle down, building their homes and living in harmony with nature.

When they left their hometown, they brought with them the incense of their ancestral deity, praying for safety and prosperity. The settlers have since enjoyed good health and abundant harvests, transforming their settlement into a thriving village.

The villagers, in gratitude for the blessings bestowed upon them by the ancestral deity, proposed the construction of a temple. They worked together to build a roof of tiles and established a shrine dedicated to the deity, branching from the Mengjia Clear Water Ancestor Temple, to offer their worship and prayers. This marked the beginning of the temple’s establishment.
