The site after the 3000-year-old sacred tree in Alishan was burned down is located beside the Shenmu Station of the forest train. Now, red cypress saplings are planted on the original site to inherit and symbolize the endless spirit of the Alishan sacred tree. A red cypress giant tree on Alishan with an age of more than 3000 years was discovered in 1906. It has a circumference of 25 meters and a height of 50 meters and is regarded as the sacred tree of Alishan.

In 1914, the entire Alishan forest railway was opened to traffic. The scene of the towering Alishan sacred tree and the forest train passing by is almost a spiritual symbol of Alishan and has become a Taiwan landmark famous at home and abroad. Unfortunately, it was burned down by two lightning strikes in the 1950s and fell on the railway in 1997. The authorities listened to the opinions of experts and the public and arranged to lay down the sacred tree and return it to nature.

Red cypress saplings were planted on the original site to inherit and symbolize the endless spirit of the Alishan sacred tree. Open all year round and all day.
