Sanzhi Fucheng Palace is dedicated to Mazu, the goddess of the sea. Originally enshrined in Taipei’s Tianhou Temple during the Qing Dynasty Guangxu period by Governor Liu Mingchuan, the deity was later respectfully moved to Sanzhi. Funds were raised to construct Fucheng Palace, which has since become the spiritual center for the residents of Sanzhi District.
