Shan Dao Temple, originally named ‘Pure Land Sect Taipei Branch,’ is located in Zhongzheng District, Taipei City. The temple complex features three exhibition rooms, with the fifth and sixth floors dedicated to an art museum, and the seventh floor, the Art and Cultural Museum, showcases Buddhist calligraphy and paintings.
On the fifth floor, various stone sculptures are displayed, predominantly artistic masterpieces of Buddhist statues from the Wei, Jin, and Six Dynasties period, which have remained intact for thousands of years and are extremely valuable. The sixth floor houses a collection of wooden, ceramic, jade, ivory, and bronze Buddha statues from the Tang, Song, Ming, Qing dynasties, as well as modern times. The Art and Cultural Museum on the seventh floor exhibits Buddhist paintings from the Song, Ming, Qing dynasties, and modern era.
