The Shuishe Waterfront Trail, an essential pedestrian route, connects Shuishe Wharf to Jiulongkou. It begins at Shuishe Wharf and ends at the Jiulongkou Bamboo Stone Garden. The trail is designed as an accessible ramp, providing a gentle and easy walk. Elevated wooden walkways are integrated along the path, offering scenic views of the water.
Local sandstone is utilized to construct stone walls that reflect the region’s imagery, forming rest areas for visitors. At these spots, one can lean on the railing and access travel information and ecological knowledge through an interpretation system.
A highlight of the trail is the floating fields landscape of Yuetan. In the early days of Sun Moon Lake, numerous aquatic plants were present. The Thao people, known for their ingenuity, mimicked these plants by planting vegetables on the lake, creating a unique floating field landscape that remains watered and irrigated naturally throughout the year.
The trail is open for exploration all day long.
