The Sicao Fortress is located next to Zhenhai Elementary School on Xiancao Street in Tainan City. It has become part of the school’s wall. There are more than ten circular gun holes lined up on the wall. It is currently the only existing fortress with circular gun holes built during the Daoguang period in Taiwan. The outside of the Sicao Fortress is reinforced with long granite slabs, and the inside is entirely made of large oval pebbles and cement. It is not only thick but also of considerable height. There are also thirteen brick circular water holes.
