The Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Yanshui District, Tainan City is a relatively special Catholic church. This church not only uses a Chinese palace-style architectural style, but also adopts a Chinese style to depict biblical events inside. What’s more interesting is that all the Catholic saints’ statues inside are blended with Chinese style. For example, in the mural of ‘The Last Supper’, the characters are all replaced by Eastern faces instead of the original European and American characters, and they are wearing ancient Chinese costumes. They also use chopsticks to eat steamed buns and drink with a wine dipper. Opening hours: Open all year round, Wednesday to Sunday, 10:00-11:30, 13:00-15:30.
