One of the top ten urban zoos in the world, easily accessible by taking the Muzha Line of the Taipei Metro.
The park is home to over four hundred species of animals, making it one of the largest in Southeast Asia.

With comprehensive facilities and multiple rest areas as well as water dispensers, the zoo includes various exhibition areas such as the Taiwan Indigenous Animals Area, Children’s Zoo Area, Insect Pavilion, Education Center, Koala Pavilion, Giant Panda Pavilion (Shinkong Exhibition Hall), Asian Tropical Rainforest Area, Desert Animals Area, Australian Animals Area, African Animals Area, Aviary, Amphibian and Reptile Pavilion, Temperate Animals Area, and Penguin Pavilion. Rare animals that are not commonly seen in daily life can be observed here, and through professional and detailed explanations, visitors can gain a deeper understanding of the living environments and habits of these animals, serving educational, conservation research, and recreational purposes.


The adorable national treasure, the giant panda, can also be observed up close. The zoo is akin to a diverse museum, showcasing the diversity of life as an educational museum, a conservation site for wildlife, and a rich and intellectual leisure destination for the public.


Open all year round from 09:00 to 17:00.


Preferential policies for children: Free for ages 0-5.


Elders: Free for those over 65 years old and for indigenous people over 55 but under 65 years old in Taipei City.


Disabled: Free for people with disabilities and one necessary companion (with a disability certificate issued by the Taiwan Social Affairs Bureau).

Must-see tips:


1. Giant Panda Pavilion open from 9:10 to 17:10, closed on the first Monday of each month, postponed on national holidays.


2. When visiting the zoo, do not feed the animals indiscriminately, and no smoking in the natural environment within the park.


3. It is recommended to wear shoes suitable for walking and to take precautions against mosquito bites.
