The remains of the wall were initially built around 1910. Most of the stones used for the wall were taken from the demolished wall of Taipei Prefecture. The main materials are andesite and Qilianan stone. These were all materials transported from stone quarries near Dazhi and Neihu during the Guangxu period of the late Qing Dynasty to build the city wall of Taipei Prefecture.
