As the museum’s new collection warehouse is about to be completed, a special exhibition is held focusing on the works of female artists in the collection. This aims to explore the soft yet resilient dimensions of contemporary art, to open up new perspectives for reading the collection, and to highlight that the new collection warehouse is not only an expansion in physical space but also carries expectations for continuous exploration of the inner state of contemporary art. The theme ‘Enclave’ is a human geography concept, referring to a piece of land within a country that is not under its jurisdiction. The original term ‘enclave’ is derived from Latin, composed of ‘en’ (in, within) and ‘clave’ (key), literally translating to a ‘locked space’. This metaphorically represents the inner state of the creator, pointing to a self-governing and secure consciousness space that maintains inner peace and determination despite external interference or emotional fluctuations. The exhibition reflects the rich inner states and multiple life experiences of female creators, extending the common autobiographical narratives in literature, and presenting the artists’ creative contexts and life care at different stages. The exhibition is open from October 5th to December 15th, with specific business hours subject to the day’s opening status.
