The TSO Affiliated Wind Orchestra will perform a series of vibrant and emotional pieces with their unique timbre and vivid expressiveness. Conductor Lin Tianji has carefully selected three pieces, each brimming with vitality and cultural hues: Holst’s ‘First Suite in E-flat Major’, a treasure in wind ensemble literature, presents a solemn yet energetic musical world, showcasing the infinite expressiveness and artistic charm of the wind orchestra; Polk’s ‘Clarinet Concerto’, with its rich musical language, perfectly combines the diverse expressions of the clarinet and the robust timbre of the wind orchestra. The emotional fluctuations and technical challenges of this piece present a fascinating dialogue between the clarinet and the wind orchestra; Lu De’s ‘Armenian Dances’ skillfully combine Armenian folk melodies with modern wind band arrangements, creating a dynamic and energetic musical chapter. The TSO Affiliated Wind Orchestra will take the audience on a journey through different cultures and eras, and through the language of music, demonstrate the diversity of life and the ubiquitous rhythm of life in music. The opening time is 11/23, with performance times and duration subject to the actual event.
