Wenwu Temple, established in 1932, is located on the northern hillside of Sun Moon Lake, primarily dedicated to Guan Yu, and also enshrines Confucius and Yue Fei. The temple, predominantly golden in color, stands majestically. Its steep terrain can be reached by boat to the base of the mountain, followed by 366 stone steps leading to the temple. Each step is inscribed with the date of the day and the names of famous people born on that day, making it a sight worth lingering over.
Before the temple, there is a stone carving of two dragons playing with a pearl. From the rear hill of Wenwu Temple, one can enjoy a panoramic view of Sun Moon Lake. The temple is open year-round from 8:00 to 20:00. Accessibility services include wheelchair-accessible parking and entrances. Smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the temple, and please refrain from making noise.
